Scottsdale has grown to be one of the high end shopping locations in the Southwest. It is home to a a large number of high end retail outlets and privately owned boutiques. The two most well known shopping centers are the Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Fashion Square. The Kierland Commons is located in North Scottsdale and includes shopping, dining, entertainment, office space and upscale loft condominiums. It was created as a community gathering place for the planned community of Kierland, which includes the Kierland Resort and Spa and the 27-hole Kierland Golf Club. Scottsdale Fashion Square is located in downtown Scottsdale. It is home to many high end stores that carry items unique to the area and the southwest region.
