Scottsdale is well known worldwide for its art and cultural diversity. Many of its events attract visitors from around the world. The WM Phoenix Open has been held in Scottsdale since 1987. It attracts over 500,000 people a day for the four day event. The Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show is internationally renowned and has been a Scottsdale tradition since 1955. For almost 40 years, Scottsdale has hosted the Barrett-Jackson Auto Show in January, one of the largest auto auction in the world. The show features luxury, exotic and historic restored vehicles and attracts visitors from around the world. The Scottsdale Culinary Festival is held each year in April. The week long festival has over 40,000 visitors. It is held on the lawn of the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall and features both local and national chefs and restaurants.
